Pretty Lanterns in HoiAn

What: Hoi An – one of the stops on our Honeymoon
When: September 2014
Distance from home:
Length of adventure: 3 nights

Recently one of my very good friends asked me about Vietnam as his mum wants to go so I thought I would dedicate the next few posts to our adventures in Vietnam.

We have been to Vietnam twice, once as part of our honeymoon and once on a rather exciting summer holiday.

Hoi An was one of the stops on our honeymoon. By day Hoi An is a beautiful old town, at night the whole place is lit up by beautiful paper lanterns – it is so magical. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

While we were there we hired bikes and cycled to An Bang beach. The ride was going well until an escaped water buffalo came running down the wrong side of the road towards us.

We also explored the historical sites of the old town and we went to the My Son ruins – another UNESCO site.
